O Death

**There are no actual dead chickens in the video. Well actually, they are dead NOW, but in the video they are alive. It's more of an intellectual retrospective focusing on the physical and mental acceptance of the connection between sustenance and conscience. Ok, I almost got that out without laughing. It's a bunch of pictures of chickens, that are now dead but weren't then and I am trying to be serious and funny at the same time. Again, no dead chickens, no blood, no gore. Just didn't want to scare anyone off. (Char, ya big baby!)**

I don't know if I could handle the moral ramifications of slaughtering all of my food. Stupid conscience.

Smiles from the farm,
Lisa

  1. I don't think I could handle the moral ramifications of slaughtering ANY of my food. It makes me queasy just to cut up a whole chicken. Don't get me wrong. I love meat and I want it good and dead before I have to prepare it. I just want someone else to do the dirty work.

BTW, I about peed my pants laughing at the image at 1:52 and your Rest In Peace line.

  2. I have to admit Lisa, I didn't watch the show!! Call me a scardy cat, I didn't know what to expect, am I missing something great and funny??? Please let me know and I will return. This idea of killing for food is a new concept to me, I buy all mine in plastic. Doesn't it naturally come that way!!!??? I do however understand that you gotta do what you gotta do, Char

  4. I love the video....you should be making movies. I especially like the shot of the "grim reaper" shadow over the chicken. Nice work. Yeah, I don't want to know what my food was before I popped it into the oven. Hugs, Kathleen

  7. I would surely be a vegetarian if I had to slaughter my food. Weird statement from a farm woman, huh?

But it is true, I would be better at zoo keeping.
That is why we still have all the male goats, the big almost grown bull calves, more quails than you can count. Pitiful!
just call me GaZooWoman from now on.

    Have a great day!
    Pam
