She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels

How blessed was I to have been given this grandmother who wore aprons, made cookies, bought me stuff that my mother wouldn't, let me drive when I was 16 and didn't even wear her seatbelt, drank tea in some company and beer in others, wasn't afraid to tell me she loved me with one breath and smack me upside the head with another, never remembered the grandkids names on the first try and gave up with the greats, just called them in the order they were born, the oldest girl, the baby etc...
The last words we said to each other were "I love you." The last time I saw her in the hospital I realized that she had the most beautiful hands.
I'll miss her.

ReplyDeleteThis is the most beautiful sentiment EVER! I lost my beloved Grams last December. She was 2 weeks away from turning 92. I miss her more than I can say. She was my friend and confidant. Although blind from Glaucoma her mental prowess never wavered... Knowing she is in heaven now brings me such peace.
