Questions:
If you have to repeatedly and somewhat vehemently deny that you are a hoarder, are you indeed a hoarder?
If you have a drawer specifically for rolling pins, do you have too many rolling pins?
Why do I have six rolling pins?
When you realize that you have too many rolling pins but can't get yourself to part with any of them, does that denote a need for intensive therapy?
and lastly...
Would you like to stop by for pie? Awesome, I'll get rolling...

A Lovely Afternoon With Jake...
The sun was shining this afternoon, so I dug out my skis and headed down into the woods with Jake.
You know in previous winters when I've been down in the woods or out on the pond I always wished that I had a dog to keep me company. And now, lookie there, I do. Isn't that nice?
He doesn't get very far from me.
Though he did veer off the path to investigate this beaver house. Right about now the Beaver family is looking up at their ceiling wondering what the heck is happening. Our family feels your pain Beaver's. We truly do.
The snow sleds haven't been out on the pond, so we decided to trust their instincts and turn around.
Slowly we returned home. The only sound the glide of my skis and the flump-flump of Jake's paws in the newly fallen snow.
Or not...

Jeesh.

Expressing myself...
Calendars are like tatoos. There are so many to choose from and you really want to get one that speaks to who YOU really are. And they last forever and make you look like you need a really good bath and a hug. Wait, no that's not right. Anyway, what was I saying. Oh yeah. I was going to get a goat calendar...like this one from Margaret at Nanny Goats in Panties.
Or this Border Collie one...
Or I could have gotten a Chicken calendar
Or a Mad Men calendar...
It is so hard to pick just one, but this is the one that I finally got...
And this picture is in it.
I LOVE Betty White and I used to love goats. Go read the FARM BLOG to see why the love has faded. This is still cool though. Betty White is holding a goat. Holy Moly.

Was it ever warm?
We spend our summers wishing it would cool off and our winters wishing it would warm up. Why are we never satisfied?

I've been thinking...
It's too cold outside to do much doing.
So I've been thinking. And by thinking, I mean lying on the couch and watching Dog the Bounty Hunter and those shows about guys buying storage lockers. I've also been working on finishing off the Christmas chocolate...
I lost my job last month. Well I still have the job, it's just that there isn't any work. Which kind of negates the definition of the word "job" doesn't it? I worked as a private contractor for a transcription company and was able to work from home and set my own schedule. I'm not sure what happened to the work, but it dried up. I wasn't heartbroken, but I do miss the money. I have turned my cell phone off and will have the cable turned off next month. Oh, Dog the Bounty Hunter what will I do without you?
So I've been thinking about what I want to do now. For some reason bounty hunting and buying storage lockers comes to mind. Or I could open a pawn shop, enter my children in weird beauty pagents, drive a truck on icy roads, catch really big fish, or open a cupcake store. I guess I could get pregnant, no wait, I'm not even close to being 16.
Yeah, it's probably good that the cable is being disconnected.
I wonder what qualifications I need to be a cat...

Stay Safe and Have Fun!
Happy New Year's Eve! Do you have big plans? I sure do. We are getting Kentucky Fried Chicken or Pizza or...wait for it...BOTH! Then we are snuggling up with our Snuggies and playing Pictionary while watching Toy Story 3 and Despicable Me. I KNOW-we are wild and crazy up here in the Maine woods. It's scary sometimes.
In other news....
I've been feeling crafty lately...here's what I've been working on...
Have a great New Year~and thank you for following this little blog and thank you for all the supportive and amazing comments. I don't have a million followers, but my followers are worth millions. I love you all!
Smiles,
Lisa

Sweet
The land beneath my feet is my bread
It is complicated in its recipe
I have toiled over its composition
I have sunk my hands into its depth
It is my pain and my pleasure
It is what I consume every day
My back aches from its administrations
I fight to not walk away from it
I take it for granted, even though
It is my sustenance and provides for me
I woke up to chores that I didn’t want to do
And realized this morning that my land is my cake…
And so I would see it for how precious it is,
God frosted it for me.

Neither snow nor rain...
...nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the SWIFT completion of their appointed rounds.
I received a package today. It was an eBay purchase. It was fabric. It is very pretty.
The weird thing is...I hadn't purchased anything on eBay since...well since people did things like purchase things on eBay. When was that? 2007?
Why yes. That is exactly when I purchased that fabric on eBay. 2007. I'm glad it wasn't a new kidney or something vital like tickets to High School Musical II.
Three years and, nine months to get from Yakima, Washington to Maine...via outerspace perhaps?
Snail mail indeed.
